Southwood is Wild About Reading! (1920 x 1080 px).png

We are excited to partner with you in raising funds for our school! We love the Read-a-thon because it gets kids excited about reading, it's FUN, and it helps us to be able to offer all the extra literacy materials and activities and events that enrich the educational experience at Southwood. Online donations are accepted Sept 12 - Oct 2. Readathon week is September 22-26.

From Read-a-thon funds raised, 50% is given to the school to provide books for the library, PE and music equipment, and classroom books, materials and activities that enrich students’ learning experience.

The rest of your contributions are used to fund teacher grants, school activities, and PTO events!

Individual, Class and School Rewards!

Students who reach $50 in donations will be given a plush safari animal keychain! Superstars ($250 in donations) will have a Happy Meal lunch party with Mr Means! Class rewards include coffee for teachers and treats for students (at 50% of goal), and rewards set by teachers for meeting the class goal. Examples of class rewards may be an extra recess, pj day, a movie, etc. Top 3 classes will earn their choice of a donut, popcorn, or cotton candy party! When the school goal is reached...Mr Means will be duct taped to the gym wall during the October Panther Pride Assembly!
